The Miami Dolphins sent Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles at the 2025 trade deadline and released Bradley Chubb earlier this offseason, allowing him to sign with their AFC East rivals – the Buffalo Bills.
While the Dolphins have added some talent back to their group of edge rushers, the room, as a whole, still lacks a true home-wrecker that puts fear in the hearts of opposing offensive coordinators, offensive tackles and quarterbacks.
With training camp just around the corner, we’re going through every position group and projecting roles for every player on the roster. Today, we’ll look at Miami’s edge rushers for 2026.
Chop Robinson
Robinson split his college career between Maryland in 2021 and Penn State from 2022-23, where he earned All-Big Ten honors once. Miami took him in the first round (No. 21 overall) of the 2024 NFL draft. Over the last two years, the 23-year-old hasn’t exactly lived up to first-round expectations. This could be a make-or-break year for him.

Career Stats: 32 games (4 starts), 47 tackles (12 for a loss), 21 quarterback hits, 10 sacks, five passes defensed and 1 forced fumble.
Projected Role: Starter
Joshua Uche
Uche played at Michigan from 2016-19, earning All-Big Ten honors once before the New England Patriots took him in the second round (No. 60 overall) of the 2020 NFL draft. Since then, he’s also had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. He signed a one-year deal with Miami this offseason and has a chance to show that he can be a starter again.
Career Stats: 76 games (4 starts), 109 tackles (21 for a loss), 37 quarterback hits, 21.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 pass defensed and 1 fumble recovery.
Projected Role: Starter
David Ojabo
Ojabo also played at Michigan from 2019-21, earning All-Big Ten and All-American honors in his final season with the Wolverines before the Baltimore Ravens took him in the second round (No. 45 overall) of the 2022 NFL draft. The 26-year-old’s career got off to a slow start due to injuries, and he was never really able to capture what he had at Michigan.
Career Stats: 32 games (1 start), 32 tackles (2 for a loss), 10 quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.
Projected Role: Rotational
Trey Moore
Moore spent three years at UTSA, earning All-AAC honors and winning AAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 before transferring to Texas where he’d spend his final two seasons. The Dolphins took him in the fourth round (No. 130 overall) of this year’s draft. While he’ll likely be a rotational player for Miami, his ability to play linebacker could help him get on the field earlier.
College Stats: 57 games, 175 tackles (50 for a loss), 30.5 sacks, 13 passes defensed, 5 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries and 1 interception.
Projected Role: Rotational/Depth
Robert Beal Jr.
Beal was a two-time national champion during his four years at Georgia from 2019-22 before the San Francisco 49ers took him in the fifth round (No. 173 overall) of the 2023 NFL draft. In San Francisco, Beal didn’t play much, peaking at 148 defensive snaps in 2024. The one thing he has going for him is his three years in the league.
Career Stats: 25 games, 36 tackles (1 for a loss) and 1 sack.
Projected Role: Rotational/Depth
Cameron Goode
Goode was Miami’s seventh-round pick (No. 224 overall) in the 2022 NFL draft after a six-year collegiate career at California. After sitting on the practice squad his rookie year, he hasn’t done much, playing just 196 defensive snaps over the last three years. He has played a lot on special teams (678 snaps), so that could help his case.
Career Stats: 37 games (1 start), 29 tackles, 2 quarterback hits and 1 pass defensed.
Projected Role: Depth/Practice Squad Candidate
Max Llewellyn
Llewellyn, 23, spent the last five seasons at Iowa before the Dolphins took him with their last pick in the 2026 NFL draft (No. 238 overall). The 23-year-old got more productive each year with the Hawkeyes, but he still has work to do to earn opportunities in the pros.
College Stats: 43 games, 64 tackles (20.5 for a loss), 14.5 sacks, 10 passes defensed, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumbles recovered.
Projected Role: Depth/Practice Squad Candidate
Mason Reiger
Reiger spent five years at Louisville due to injury, but he only played in three seasons before transferring to Wisconsin for their 2025 campaign. At 6-foot-4 and 251 pounds, the 23-year-old has drawn attention as one of Miami’s most intriguing undrafted rookies heading into camp.
College Stats: 44 games, 82 tackles (22.5 for a loss), 13 sacks, 4 passes defensed, 4 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.
Projected Role: Depth/Practice Squad Candidate
Seth Coleman
Coleman played at Illinois from 2019-24 before signing with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent. He failed to make the roster out of camp and spent part of his rookie season on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad. The 25-year-old measured in at 6-foot-3 and 246 pounds at his Pro Day last year.
College Stats: 56 games, 183 tackles (27.5 for a loss), 15.5 sacks, 15 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.
Projected Role: Practice Squad Candidate
Rodney McGraw
McGraw began his collegiate career at Penn State, spending two years with the Nittany Lions. He transferred to Louisville in 2023 and then to Western Michigan in 2024. After finishing out his college career with the Broncos, the 24-year-old signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent.
