The Los Angeles Rams didn’t sign a single offensive tackle in free agency or select one in the draft this offseason, showing confidence in the guys they already have on the roster. However, on Thursday, they finally added some depth to the position.
The team announced it has signed veteran lineman David Quessenberry to a one-year deal. The terms of the contract were not disclosed but it’s likely for the veteran minimum.
Quessenberry, 34, last played for the Vikings in 2024, suiting up for all 17 games but making zero starts. He started four games for Minnesota in 2023, playing a total of 332 offensive snaps.
The Rams will be Quessenberry’s fifth NFL team since being a sixth-round pick in the 2013 draft. He didn’t play a regular-season game until 2017, though. He missed his rookie year with a foot injury and in June of 2014, he was diagnosed with Lymphoma.
Quessenberry finished treatment and returned to the Texans in 2017, making his debut on Christmas Day that year after being promoted from the practice squad.
In his career, Quessenberry has played 84 games and made 30 starts, 17 of which came with the Titans in 2021. He has experience at both right and left tackle, so he’ll provide depth on each side for L.A.
