The Steelers report to Latrobe for training camp at St. Vincent College
LATROBE, Pa. —
Steelers players are reporting to St. Vincent College in Latrobe for training camp.
This year’s excitement includes new head coach Mike McCarthy.

While some players will be meeting McCarthy for the first time, others are already familiar with him.
Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is in his final season with the NFL, has a long history with the coach, playing under him for 13 seasons in Green Bay.
Together, they defeated the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
Rodgers’ final year with the NFL
In May, Rodgers announced his 22nd year playing professional football would be his last. He signed a one-year deal with the Steelers.
“I had a lot of conversations with (Steelers head coach) Mike (McCarthy) and (general manager) Omar (Khan) for a while, and I just had a lot of conversations with my wife about it, and after the draft, came to a conclusion that I wanted to play and wanted to come back,” he said.
This is Rodgers’ second season with the Steelers.
Who will be the Steelers’ Backup Quarterback?
Another storyline we’ll be following during Steelers Training Camp is the competition for the QB2 spot.
Will Howard, Mason Rudolph, and rookie Drew Allar are all options to play backup for Rodgers.
Veteran backup Mason Rudolph has been an occasional starter during seven seasons in Pittsburgh and one in Tennessee. His career record is 9-9-1 as a starting quarterback. In 2025, the Steelers signed Rudolph to a two-year contract that runs through the end of this season.
Will Howard is heading into his second year. The Steelers selected Howard from Ohio State in Round 6 of the 2025 draft. Howard has not appeared in a regular-season game.
The Steelers also have rookie Drew Allar, a third-round pick from Penn State.
New head coach Mike McCarthy has a long track record of working with young quarterbacks, including Rodgers in Green Bay two decades ago.
