Day 4 of New England Patriots training camp is in the books, and it was a more entertaining session than Monday’s walkthrough.
The highlight of the day was a 40+ yard touchdown pass from Drake Maye to Kayshon Boutte, who has been the Pats’ best offensive player so far in camp. The Maye-A.J. Brown connection remains a work in progress, however, as the third-year QB is now 3-for-10 in camp when targeting his new star receiver after more miscommunications on Tuesday.
Also worth noting is that cornerbacks Carlton Davis and Charles Woods both left practice with members of the training staff. It’s unclear why at this time.
After practice, star cornerback Christian Gonzalez was among the players to speak to the media. Gonzalez addressed Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s comments on his contract situation.
New England will have Wednesday off and return to the practice field on Thursday.
