KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City is in the mix to host a Super Bowl in the next decade, team president Mark Donovan said Wednesday.
Donovan said the Kansas City Chiefs have had preliminary conversations with the NFL about hosting the event in 2033, 2034 or 2035.
This comes seven months after the team announced plans to build a new domed stadium in Kansas City, Kan.
The team released renderings of the $3 billion stadium last week. The stadium, designed by Kansas City-based firm Manica, will hold roughly 70,000 fans.
Here are confirmed Super Bowls for the next several years:
2027: Inglewood, Calif. 2028: Atlanta, Georgia2029: Las Vegas, Nev. 2030: Nashville, Tenn.
In addition to Super Bowls, Donovan said the team is “aggressively pursuing Final Fours.”
