Coach Harbaugh joins ‘On the Line with Jim Pyne’ to talk family, leadership & more
The Giants kick off training camp today in West Virginia, the first of 10 practices over the next two weeks in Sulphur Springs.
Prior to making the trip down south, coach John Harbaugh joined ‘On the Line with Jim Pyne’ to talk a variety of topics.
Pyne, a nine-year NFL veteran with five different NFL teams, spent the 2001 campaign with the Eagles, where Harbaugh was then serving as the special teams coordinator.
The Giants head coach was the featured guest on the first episode of Pyne’s new podcast, where the two discussed the importance of family, their shared love of football, Harbaugh’s leadership style and so much more.
“I would say this because you do think about it – the thing that for me, my personality, I think this is something that would be good advice is whatever you do, throw yourself into it 100%,” Harbaugh shared. “Don’t be halfway. If you decide that you’re going to get involved, don’t be like ‘Let me try this out and see if it works for me.’ That’s pretty much a guarantee it’s not going to work for you.
“If you decide that you’re going to get involved in something, whether it’s coaching your kid… If you’re going to coach your child’s football team, then be all in. Be all in to make it the greatest experience you possibly could. Be the greatest youth football coach that ever lived, and all those kids want to come back and play next year because they love you and they love the sport and they love being a part of it because you made it so wonderful…. Whatever it is, throw yourself into it fully and give yourself a chance to, you know, make the most of it I would say.”
