Former Folsom High Bulldog signs with the San Francisco 49ers
SAN FRANCISCO —
The San Francisco 49ers are adding a Folsom High great to their team for this season, and he made his first appearance at training camp this week.
Tight end Josiah Deguara, who graduated from Folsom High in 2015, helped the team win a Division 1 state championship during his junior year in 2014.
Deguara was also a three-sport athlete during his time as a Bulldog, playing baseball, basketball and football, according to MaxPreps.
He was on varsity for all three sports.
Deguara attended the University of Cincinnati from 2015-2019 and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 2020 NFL Draft in the third round, according to NinersWire.
Deguara was recognized as a First-Team All American athlete and earned recognition as UC’s Claude Rost Sr. Most Valuable Player Award when he was a senior in 2019, according to the university’s athletics website.
Deguara played four years with the Green Bay Packers, one year with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024 and one year with the Arizona Cardinals in 2025, according to ESPN stats.
He’s played 77 games in his six-year career.
