The Seattle Seahawks are set to begin their title defense campaign this season. For only the second time in franchise history, Seattle will look to keep the crown they so rightfully earned the year prior. One area of the roster many feel the Seahawks could use a little more help with is at wide receiver. Yes, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is arguably the best receiver in the league. Not to mention veteran Cooper Kupp is always a reliable option and the explosive Rashid Shaheed will likely factor more in the passing attack this year with a full offseason under his belt. But there is no such thing as too much depth in this league, not with how pass-happy the NFL has become.
However, Seattle quite likely has a reinforcement option already in-house: second year wide receiver Tory Horton. The former fifth round pick out of Colorado State didn’t play much in 2025, but when he did, he showcased his skillset. A shin injury cut his rookie season to only eight games. Fortunately, it appears Horton is ready to begin his sophomore season with a bang.
At training camp, Horton hauled in a beautiful pass from quarterback Sam Darnold and made a remarkable reception.
Tory Horton had 13 receptions for 161 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie. He set a Seahawks franchise record for longest punt return touchdown when he took one 95 yards to the house against the Saints in Week 3. The score allowed him to join Tim Brown (1988) and Percy Harvin (2009) as the only players in NFL history with multiple receiving touchdowns and a punt return touchdown in the first three games to start a career.
