Lions open up training camp with the start of preseason just two weeks away

Allen Park, Mich – (WJRT) – The Detroit Lions open up training camp Wednesday with star running back Jahmyr Gibbs not in attendance due to a contract holdout. Dan Campbell said, “this is part of it…I’m not sweating it.” He believes he will see his running back on the field soon. Defensive Back Aiden Hutchinson is back on the field feeling healthy. He told media he feels like a new man. Wide Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown said he can’t wait to see his “dog” Jahmyr back on the field. “He is still in the meetings and around, so I know he will be back soon.” Lions open preseason play on the road in Cincinnati to take on the Bengals Thursday, August 13, at 7 p.m.
