ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (WIBW) – If anybody at Kansas City Chiefs training camp knows what it takes to be a successful defensive lineman in the NFL, it’s Chris Jones.
The 11th-year veteran has spent his entire career with Kansas City, winning 3 Super Bowls and being named a Pro Bowler 7 times.
The Chiefs spent two of their first three draft picks on defensive lineman this spring. Both players, DT Peter Woods and DE R Mason Thomas, are standing out in Jones’ eyes.
“I’m excited about the young talent we have on the D-line,” Jones told reporters Saturday. Peter is coming along, Mason is doing his thing, so I’m excited to get it going.”
“We haven’t put the pads on yet,” Jones continued. “I’m excited to put the pads on Monday.”
The Chiefs open up their preseason on Saturday, Aug. 15 vs. the Los Angeles Rams.
