NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – With about four weeks until the Tennessee Titans set their 53-man roster, more than 90 players are competing in training camp for a spot. One of the open positions is right guard, a vacancy created by the departure of Kevin Zeitler this offseason. Cordell Volson is working to claim that role.
Volson grew up in Balfour, North Dakota, a town of 27 people. He said the work ethic he developed there shapes how he approaches competition.
“You know growing up, it didn’t matter how you felt — you got up and went to work and that’s the same way here,” Volson said. “You know there are going to be days where things don’t go the way you planned them to, but how do you respond to that? That’s just something I carry with me and know that I get the opportunity to play this great game and not take it for granted.”
Volson suffered a shoulder injury in training camp a year ago that caused him to miss all of the 2025 season. He is now back on the field and focused on earning the starting spot.
“My mindset is just show up every day and find a way to get better,” Volson said. “While I’m doing that, help those around me, because at the end of the day we is greater than me.”
