Tuesday in Foxboro, it felt like football again.
Not all the way, of course, as it was still practice. But with the Colts at Gillette Stadium for a joint practice session, spirited competition was the story of the day.
The other story of the day was the absence of Christian Gonzalez for the first time all summer. Whether he was a little sore after taking a hard fall on Monday or whether he wasn’t keen on going up against another team amid his contract talks, we aren’t sure. But we likely won’t get an answer until Mike Vrabel talks after the preseason opener on Thursday. Even then … don’t expect the clearest response.
