Another former UConn football player has made it to the NFL.
Former kicker Chris Freeman signed with the Houston Texans earlier this week.
Freeman spent two seasons at UConn from 2024-25, developing into one of the better kickers in the nation. The Indiana transfer finished last season 22-for-26 on field goal attempts, with a long of 50 yards and a streak of 12 straight makes, setting a new UConn school record. He also closed the year a perfect 52-52 on extra points and totaled 121 points for the season.
Over his two seasons with the Huskies, Freeman made 43 field goals and totaled 230 total points. He hit career-long field goals of 53 yards twice in 2024, against Wake Forest at home and on the road at UMass. He made a career-best four field goals including the game-winner in the closing seconds to lead the Huskies to a win at Buffalo last fall.
The 24-year-old from Zionsville, Ind. spent his first two college seasons at Indiana, where he made 10 of 14 attempts in 2023.
Freeman becomes the 10th Husky currently in the NFL, joining Joe Fagnano (QB- Ravens), Travis Jones (DT- Ravens), Skyler Bell (WR- Bills), Chase Lundt (OT- Bills), Matt Peart (OT- Broncos), Ryan van Denmark (OT- Vikings), Eric Watts (DE- Jets), Christian Haynes (OT- Seahawks) and Valentin Senn (OT- Cardinals).
