Dean Spanos

Chair
Los Angeles Chargers

Spanos is the owner and chair of the Los Angeles Chargers, which his family purchased in 1984 for a mere $72 million. It is now worth closer to $3.9 billion. The team was formerly based in San Diego but moved to Los Angeles in 2017. It plays at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood and has a 14-acre training facility and corporate headquarters in El Segundo known as The Bolt. The team spent about $250 million on the facility, which will feature a members-only club. It was developed by Continental Development Corp. and Mar Ventures Inc. on land that was previously part of Raytheon’s campus. Last year billionaire Tom Gores purchased a 27% stake in the team.
