LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — While on a break from OTA’s, Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery hosted a youth football camp at Lansing Sexton High School.

Kids had the opportunity to not only participate in drills and learn from volunteer coaches, but also had the chance to catch passes from Montgomery during camp scrimmages.

Around 350 kids between the ages of 6-16 attended the event, as local kids got the chance of a lifetime in playing catch with one of their favorite players.

During the camp Montgomery stressed to everyone just how important education is in being a student-athlete with the “student” part always coming first.
