OXFORD, Miss. (WMC) – Three former Ole Miss Rebels are getting help from a judge to play one more season of college football.
According to reports, a Louisiana judge has granted a temporary restraining order to more than two dozen former college football players, allowing them to go back to college for another year even though some were in NFL training camps this summer.
Those athletes include former Ole Miss tight end Dae’quan Wright, defensive tackle Zxavian Harris, and safety Wydett Williams Jr.
These three players joined 30 other college athletes in a lawsuit against the NCAA, seeking to be released from their NFL contracts so they could play a fifth season of college sports.
This came after the NCAA changed its eligibility rules this summer, which college athletes argued breached its “covenant of good faith.”
