Running back Steele has a soft spot and it’s scaly, toothy, and lives in his living room.
Meet Crocky-J, a four-foot-long pet alligator who sleeps in a custom built enclosure next to Steele’s flat-screen TV.
And fans were left stunned by the latest photo of the pet.
“This can’t be real,” one fan simply wrote.
Another said, “A professional athlete living with a pet alligator.”
A third joked, “Wish he would hold onto the football like he does that gator.”
And one more commented, “Seems like a good idea.”
Raised in Greenwood, Indiana, Carson has always had a different taste from others.
He was known as the “Muscle Hamster” in college for his shredded physique and quirky personality.
It’s said he adopted Crocky-J after spotting him during an offseason visit to a reptile sanctuary in Florida.

He first pitched the idea to his parents, who were surprisingly open to keeping the gator in their aquarium.
Since then, the two have been inseparable and now Crocky-J lives with Steele in his apartment.
Last year, Steele admitted he even got his pet a Christmas present.
“I got him in 2nd or 3rd grade, probably as a Christmas present. So I’ve had him a little while now,” he said.
Steele also noted that Crocky-J weighs between 90 and 100 pounds and is between four and five feet long.

The gator eats premium-grade chicken breast, sunbathes under heat lamps, and although it’s unclear whether he tags along to games or remains a staple in Steele’s daily life.
It’s hard to say whether Crocky-J brings him good luck, but Steele appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the Chiefs last year.
He even finished second in Pro Bowl voting for fullbacks just behind Baltimore’s Patrick Ricard.
Steele’s football career is following a normal trajectory even if his pet choices isn’t.
He’ll be hoping the Chiefs can snap back in 2025 and regain the Super Bowl crown they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.
