Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman was arrested in June on domestic violence charges. Per TMZ, Bateman is accused of shattering the windshield and driver’s side window of a woman he had a child with.

Per TMZ:

“NFL star Rashod Bateman is accused of family violence in Georgia after he allegedly smashed the windows of his baby mama’s car … while his 3-month-old was inside … TMZ has learned.”

Glass shards caused lacerations on the woman’s face.

The incident happened in June, and Bateman turned himself in to Florida police on June 3, later on the same day the incident allegedly occurred. The story, however, was kept quiet until TMZ reported it Friday evening.

The Ravens issued a standard comment to TMZ, noting the team was aware of the situation and working with the league office.

UPDATE (6:29): The Ravens released a separate statement to other media outlets.

A judge later lifted a no-contact order against Bateman.

The Ravens’ first-round pick in 2021, Bateman has started 47 games over the past five seasons. Last year, he started 12 of the 13 games he appeared in, catching 19 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns. A significant drop from his 2024 production of 45 receptions, 756 yards, and nine touchdowns. The Ravens’ top receiver, Zay Flowers, signed a long-term contract extension earlier this month.

Bateman could face league discipline for his conduct, but the league has yet to issue any punishment. The NFL generally waits for the legal process to play out before handing down discipline with the exception of severe criminal charges. Should Bateman be suspended, the Ravens could rely on rookie Ja’Kobi Lane, who has impressed in his first summer with the team.

Hours before TMZ’s report, NFL insider Aaron Wilson reported Houston made exploratory trade calls with Baltimore regarding Bateman after Texans WR Jayden Higgins tore his ACL during a recent joint practice.

In his career, Bateman has caught eight passes for 97 yards and one touchdown in seven regular-season contests against Pittsburgh. He caught two passes for 24 yards and a touchdown in the team’s 2024 Wild Card win over the Steelers.
