Daniels is competing for a spot with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He led the team to a second-half comeback against the Kansas City Chiefs Saturday, engineering three scoring drives in a 16-15 win.
The KU product completed 9 of 14 passes for 71 yards and a touchdown. Daniels was not sacked during the game.
Former KU quarterback Jalon Daniels delivered in the second half of the Buccaneers’ preseason win over the Chiefs.

Daniels credited his time at Kansas after Saturday’s game.
“One thing that I learned from the University of Kansas is something called ‘Willie Zero.’ ‘Willie Zero’ means you just want to be able to get back to the line of scrimmage no matter what,” Daniels said. “You don’t want to make a bad play worse.”
The Buccaneers have one preseason game remaining, playing the Jacksonville Jaguars Friday, Aug. 28.
