What direction will the New York Giants go in once they select for the first time in the 2027 NFL draft?
Next year’s draft is a long way away, but speculation about how the event will take shape on Day 1 continues to pique interest. The Giants’ core consists of several players taken in the last two draft classes. New York’s key young pieces all have the chance to mature in alignment with one another, along with one more elite prospect added to their mix next year.
Sports Illustrated’s Gilberto Manzano forecasted that the Giants will select Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore with the No. 10 overall pick in his 2027 NFL mock draft 1.0.
Moore would be a steal here for the Giants. He’s a prospect who likely will become a shutdown corner in the pros. The 6’2″, 197-pound Moore also has a nose for the ball after recording five interceptions in 2025. A few blue-chip prospects, like Moore, will likely be available after the top six picks if all of the prominent quarterbacks do well this season.
The Giants have Paulson Adebo and Greg Newsome as their starting corners on the outside. Deonte Banks has also had a productive offseason, with rookie Colton Hood also in the mix to earn snaps on the outside next season.

Nevertheless, Banks has had question marks surrounding his name for several seasons now, while Adebo has not had the best training camp. That may call for New York to select an elite cornerback prospect like Moore in next year’s draft.
