The Tennessee Titans are hoping to usher in a new era of football in Nashville after establishing a new direction at the game’s most important position.
With No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward in the mix as the future under center, there’s hope in Nashville that things can turn around. These developments can take time, though, which means there’s still the chance the Titans are continuing the roster rebuild going into the 2026 offseason.

Given the amount of time still left until that arrives, there’s a lot that can change over the next calendar year that will determine how Tennessee attacks the offseason.
However, in a way-too-early 2026 NFL mock draft from CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson, the Titans again held a top-five pick. They were predicted to use that selection on Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods, arguably the top overall prospect in the upcoming class.
Woods plays with leverage, power and a low center of gravity. Flashes strong hands and can toss offensive linemen off-balance and shed blocks quickly to fill gaps and get to the ball-carrier.
With star interior pass-rusher Jeffery Simmons still under contract through the 2027 season, the Titans may need to find a running mate for the three-time Pro Bowl selection. Woods could be a top target in that regard.
Woods was rated as the No. 1 overall prospect in the class by Yahoo Sports’ Nate Tice, who described the 315-pound defender as a “monster in the middle” and a “powerful defender with light feet who plays hard and has the ability to impact the run or pass on every down.”

The rising junior recorded 28 tackles (18 solo), 3.0 sacks, nine tackles for loss, and a forced fumble during the 2024 collegiate season.
There’s a lot that will change before the Titans begin seriously preparing for the 2026 draft, but Woods is a name to keep in mind once the season begins.
