The Pittsburgh Steelers made multiple roster moves on Monday, as the team signed CB Jaylon Guilbeau and RB Alex Tecza, while releasing DB Israel Mukuamu. The Steelers also activated DB Jalen Ramsey from the PUP list. The team’s roster is now full at 91 players.

Guilbeau worked out for the Steelers on Sunday, while Tecza, Eli Heidenreich’s teammate at Navy and Mt. Lebanon High School, participated in the team’s rookie minicamp.

Mukuamu signed with the Steelers during training camp after having previously played for Mike McCarthy in Dallas. He was injured in practice following the Steelers’ preseason opener and did not play in their second preseason game. With Ramsey returning, he finds himself as the odd man out.

Despite only releasing one player today, the Steelers had room on their roster after releasing K Laith Marjan on Sunday.

Guilbeau and Tecza are both undrafted rookies. Guilbeau played at Texas and was invited to the 2026 NFL Combine but was waived with a non-football injury designation earlier this month. He’s clearly healthy now and will help fill out the Steelers’ CB room.

The Steelers met with Guilbeau at the East-West Shrine Bowl, and he has the versatility to play in the slot or outside. After primarily being a slot cornerback, he played 490 snaps outside in 2025 at Texas. He measured in at 5111 and 187 pounds with a 4.56 40-yard dash. He also posted a 34 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10’05” broad jump.

Guilbeau had 10 passes defensed and one interception to go along with 124 total tackles in four seasons at Texas.

Off the field, Guilbeau told Steelers Depot at the Combine about his love for horseback riding.

Tecza ran for 902 yards and 13 touchdowns last season at Navy. His impressive career with the Midshipmen included 2,236 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns along with 41 receptions for 451 yards and three receiving touchdowns. He’ll reunite with his high school and college teammate Heidenreich for Pittsburgh’s preseason finale on Thursday against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium.

At Navy’s Pro Day, Tecza measured in at 5106 and 199 pounds and ran a 4.58 40-yard dash. It wouldn’t be a surprise for the Steelers to use him at fullback, though they listed him as a running back when they announced his signing.

Both Guilbeau and Tecza will likely practice with the Steelers this week and look to suit up in the preseason finale on Thursday.
