As good as the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ first preseason game went, the second game went just as bad. There are some clear and obvious strengths on this roster, and there are some real weaknesses. We took that into mind when we put together this new five-round mock draft for the 2027 NFL Draft.
First round – G Austin Siereveld – Ohio State
The Steelers have no answer at right guard and we don’t see anything showing up anytime soon. Gennings Dunker might be the answer at some point but for now, we have no confidence in the players on the roster going forward so it’s an easy choice to take the top guard in the country in Austin Siereveld.
Second round – CB Zabien Brown – Alabama
By the time the draft gets here, Zabien Brown might be a first-round pick but for now we will take him here as insurance in case the Joey Porter Jr. situation doesn’t get settled.

We are not convinced the tandem of DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. are the long-term answer and while we love Germie Bernard, he needs a deep threat and that’s where Ryan Wingo comes in as one of the best deep-ball weapons in college football.
Fourth round – LB Christian Alliegro – Ohio State
We want to see how things play out but we have a hard time seeing the Steelers keep Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison next season and Alliegro is one of the best run-stuffing inside linebackers in the draft and a high IQ football player.
Fifth round – QB Sam Leavitt – LSU
With Sam Leavitt still on the board, we take a flyer on the transfer quarterback. Leavitt flashed at Arizona State and hopes to take the next step this season at LSU. He’s got a live arm, very good size and solid athleticism.
