PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – University of Oregon, the Big Ten Network, and DAZN announced Thursday that they are working together to make the Ducks’ Sept. 18th matchup with Portland State available to viewers internationally.
This comes after Dan Lanning and seven Oregon student-athletes travelled to Japan for the Tokyo Oregon Football Showcase earlier this summer.
The new agreement between the Big Ten Network and DAZN will make the game between the Ducks and Portland State free-to-view to fans in Japan and worldwide. DAZN is a sports entertainment platform that streams more than 140,000 live events annually and is available in over 200 markets worldwide.
“The Tokyo Oregon Football Showcase created real connections, and this is a special way to build on the momentum created by our visit,” shared Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens. “Working with Big Ten Network and DAZN lets us bring Oregon football to fans in Japan and in all international markets DAZN serves, and we look forward to continuing to add additional content and other elements to this partnership.”
Oregon football will also have original programming throughout the season featured on DAZN, including their weekly Ducks v. Them series. Additionally, the Big Ten Network will be a sharing a documentary style recap that follows the Ducks time in Japan with DAZN to be distributed internationally.
Oregon’s home matchup with Portland State is set for Friday, September 18th at 7:30 p.m. P.T. or 11:30 a.m. Saturday the 19th in Japan (JST).
