It comes after Jones was left off the Bengals’ 53-man roster for the upcoming season, with Cincinnati choosing to keep Ke’Shawn Williams, Dohnte Meyers and rookie Colbie Young as its final three wide receivers.
Williams is expected to step into the returner role that was held by Jones.
A fourth-round pick by the Bengals out of Purdue in the 2023 NFL Draft, Jones returned a kickoff for a touchdown in each of the last two seasons, and returned a punt for a touchdown in 2023.
Across three seasons with the Bengals, Jones returned 50 punts and 47 kicks, averaging 9.2 and 27.3 yards, respectively.
Jones had 13 punt returns for 115 yards and 42 kick returns for 1,084 yards in 2025.
Jones’ 2023 rookie season was his best as a wide receiver, with seven catches for 64 yards. He had one catch for five yards in 2024 and didn’t have a reception in 2025.
