Dolphins Linked to $29 Million Tyreek Hill Decision After Offseason Drama originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The expectation around the NFL is for the Miami Dolphins to trade Jalen Ramsey.

That’s nearly a given, but there are still some questions about other players on the roster, including Tyreek Hill.

According to Mike Florio of PFT, moving on from Hill could still happen.

Florio believes that the Dolphins’ decisions could change in the next few days, adding that trading him after June 2 makes sense.

“That could change in a couple of days. Given the realities of Hill’s contract (re-done in 2024), it makes sense for the Dolphins to hold Hill until June 2 or later. That’s when the cap consequences can be spread over two years.

“For now, Hill has $28.296 million in unallocated bonus money that will hit the cap. A pre-June 1 trade means all of it lands in 2025. A post-June 1 trade limits the 2025 dead money to $12.728 million, with the remaining $15.568 million landing on the cap in 2026,” he wrote.

The Dolphins will ultimately have to decide whether they want to head into a rebuild or attempt to run this thing back one more time.

That will fall on the health of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and that’s scary.

The Alabama product hasn’t been healthy throughout much of his career, a significant reason why the Dolphins haven’t been the team they’re looking to be.

Hill could welcome another team.

He stated in recent weeks that he’s upset about what he did after the Dolphins were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 18, following the Denver Broncos’ win.

However, he still acknowledged that the actions he took weren’t the best for anybody involved.
