Longtime NFL veteran, Super Bowl champion and former Nittany Lion Matt Suhey died on Saturday.
Suhey died in his sleep Saturday night at 68-years-old, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The former Penn Stater was selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 1980 NFL Draft. He appeared in 148 games for the Bears, playing a big role in the team’s 1985 Super Bowl title.
Suhey scored the team’s first touchdown in the championship against the New England Patriots. During his 10-year career, he rushed for 2,946 yards and recorded 20 rushing touchdowns.
With the Nittany Lions, Suhey recorded 2,818 yards on the ground and 26 rushing touchdowns from 1976 to 1980.
