The San Francisco 49ers take on the division rival Los Angeles Rams in a Week 1 matchup in Melbourne, Australia. The game will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday, Sep. 10 at 5:35 p.m. PT.
The game will be streamed on Netflix, but fans without the streaming service can still watch on local TV for free. NBC will air the game in the Bay Area.
George Kittle, Nick Bosa and Fred Warner will all be returning from season-ending injuries last year for the 49ers. Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who signed with the team late last month to come out of retirement, did not travel to Australia for the game as he gets back up to speed.
The winner will have a leg up in the NFC West standings, but the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks took the lead in the race for the West Wednesday night by winning the NFL’s season opener over New England.
