The Cincinnati Bengals are adding to their player personnel department.
On Monday, the team announced the hirings of Josh Hinch and Tyler Ramsey as new scouts. Trey LaBounty was hired to be the scouting research analyst – a new position created for the franchise.
Hinch comes to Cincinnati from the New England Patriots, where he spent the past two seasons (2023-24) as a southeast area scout following two years (’21-22) as a pro scout. Prior to his time with the Patriots, Hinch served as the director of personnel for two different teams in the XFL and the Alliance of American Football league. He broke into the scouting industry in 2015 where he spent four years as a scouting assistant for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With his experience covering the Southeast region during his time in New England, the Bengals are adding another scout with familiarity and knowledge of arguably the best conference (SEC) in college football.
Ramsey, a 16-year scouting veteran, most recently spent time on the Reese’s Senior Bowl’s scouting team. Before that, Ramsey served as a national scout and assistant director of personnel for the Carolina Panthers. He began his career in scouting with the Seattle Seahawks as a scouting assistant in 2009-11 before moving to the role of an area scout where he spent nine seasons.
After playing collegiate football at Stanford as a walk-on defensive end and earning a master’s degree in sports analytics from Miami (Ohio) University, LaBounty, 25, began his career in an NFL player personnel department serving as a football analytics intern for the Buffalo Bills. LaBounty will work under director of football research Sam Francis.
Bengals director of personnel Duke Tobin is adding to his staff after former scout Christian Sarkisian left the team after seven years to become the general manager of athletics at Northwestern University.
