One of the Indianapolis Colts’ three preseason games will be broadcast live on the NFL Network in August.
League-wide, there will be 21 preseason games broadcast nationally on the NFL Network during that three-week span, with the Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens being aired at 7:00 PM ET on Thursday, August 7th, to open up the preseason action in Week 1.
In addition to the Colts kicking off their preseason on the road against the Ravens, the two teams will also have at least one joint practice prior to that matchup.
It’s also been confirmed by head coach Shane Steichen that the Colts will host the Green Bay Packers for a joint practice prior to their Week 2 preseason matchup.
Throughout training camp and the preseason, all eyes will be on the Colts’ quarterback competition between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones. As Shane Steichen has said, throughout the offseason and into the summer, the two will split the starting reps, and ultimately, the most consistent of the two will win the Week 1 job.
Matt Goncalves at right guard, Tanor Bortolini at center, Tyler Warren at tight end, and Jaylon Carlies at linebacker will be some of the other players and position groups to keep our eyes on.
“It is an open competition,” Steichen said after last week’s OTA practice. “Those guys are competing. We’re breaking down the reps; they’re both getting one reps, they’re both getting two reps. I think through OTAs, we got nine good practices, they’ll both get about 170 reps a piece with those guys, with the ones and twos. We’ll flip-flop them.”
