HOUSTON – The Texans are working out former Cincinnati Bengals running back Chris Evans on Thursday, per a league source.
A former University of Michigan starter and sixth-round draft pick, Evans played in Cincinnati with Texans Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon.
Evans has rushed for 89 career yard son 19 carries with 19 catches for 188 yards and three touchdowns. He has also returned kickoffs, averaging 21.1 yards per return in 2022 and 29.0 yards in 2021 as a rookie.
Evans missed last season with a ruptured patellar tendon.
Evans has run the 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds with a 40 1/2 inch vertical leap.
Evans is a 5-foot-11, 215-pound former Wolverines player who rushed for 1,795 career yards and 15 touchdowns with 49 catches for 479 yards and two scores.
