Former Mount Union All-Americans and national champions Bill Borchert and Nate Kmic are on the 2026 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Borchert was a two-time All-American quarterback for the Purple Raiders from 1994-97. Mount Union went 50-3 over his four seasons and won four Ohio Athletic Conference championships and NCAA Division III national titles in 1996 and 1997. He won the 1997 Gagliardi Trophy presented to Division III’s top all-around player.

Borchert held the Purple Raiders career record for passing yards with 14,482. He still holds school records for career passing touchdowns with 189 and single-season passing touchdowns with 63 set in 1997.

Kmic was a three-time All-American running back who helped lead Mount Union to national titles in 2005, 2006 and 2008. He was named the Melberger National Player of the Year in 2008 and was a two-time D3Football.com Offensive Player of the Year. His teams also won four OAC titles.

Kmic became college football’s all-time leading rusher in all divisions with 8,074 and was the most prolific scorer in NCAA history among all divisions with 130 total touchdowns. He is also the NCAA all-divisions career all-purpose yards leader with 9,651.

The announcement of the College Football Hall of Fame class will be made in early 2026.

The class will be officially inducted during the National Football Foundation’s annual awards dinner on Dec. 8, 2026 in Las Vegas.
