Twelve players with local ties were on NFL rosters this season, including six who were on playoff teams, of which three were on active rosters. Here is how each player fared in the first week of the playoffs. Players are listed in alphabetical order.

* WR Romeo Doubs (Green Bay Packers): Doubs’ season came to a painful end as the Nevada alum suffered a concussion during the Packers’ 22-10 wild-card round loss to Philadelphia. It was the second confirmed concussion of the season for Doubs, who missed two games during the regular season with a brain injury. Both concussions were suffered in a similar fashion as Doubs attempted to catch a pass in the end zone and had his head whack against the turf upon falling to the ground. Doubs has worn a guardian cap on top of his helmet after the first concussion, but it did not limit further damage Sunday. Doubs stayed down for an extended period and was helped off the field by staff. He caught two passes for 13 yards.

* LB Daiyan Henley (Los Angeles Chargers): The Chargers were a road favorite but lost 32-12 to the Houston Texans as Justin Herbert was intercepted four times after throwing just three picks in the regular season. Playing in his first playoff game, Henley had a team-high 10 tackles and a quarterback hit. Henley played all 73 defensive snaps and seven on special teams. Houston got off to a slow start but racked up 429 yards while possessing the ball for 34 minutes, 25 seconds. Henley said the day after the game he played most of the season with a torn labrum in his shoulder.

* Kyle Van Noy (Baltimore Ravens): The Ravens breezed past NFC North rivals Pittsburgh, 28-14, as Van Noy had one tackle in 32 defensive snaps (70 percent of Baltimore’s plays). Van Noy’s stop came on the first series on a 2-yard scramble by Russell Wilson. Van Noy remains the only local player on an active roster remaining in the playoffs. Baltimore plays at Buffalo on Sunday in the divisional round as a 1-point road underdog. Van Noy is aiming for his fourth Super Bowl berth with the first three coming while playing for New England (he’s 2-1 in Super Bowls).

Of note: Nevada had three alums on practice squads of playoff teams. The season of TE Cole Turner (Washington Commanders) marches against the Detroit Lions in the divisional round while the seasons of DB Emany Johnson (Los Angeles Chargers) and OLB Daniel Grzesiak (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) ended over the weekend.
