This is not much of a surprise, but New York Jets‘ new regime doesn’t want anything to do with the Aaron Rodgers circus.
According to multiple reports Sunday including one from Fox’s Jay Glazer, Jets general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn are looking to start fresh without the veteran 41-yaear old quarterback.
With one year left on his contract, the Jets will still take a $49 million salary cap hit even if Rodgers is traded or released.

After arriving in a trade with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers tore his Achilles on the first series of the first game of the Jets’ 2023 season . The Jets went 7-10 without him under center.
Though he returned in 2024, Rodgers won just five games in a turbulent season for the Jets that included the firing of head coach Robert Saleh. The Jets also made a deal for former Packers wide receiver Davante Adams prior to the trade deadline.
Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards while tossing 28 touchdowns. He had 11 interceptions and a 90.5 passer rating.
If Rodgers decides to play another season, the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and Tennessee Titans are among teams as possible destinations for his 2025 season.

It appears likely that Adams also will be playing elsewhere next season.
