The Buffalo Bills voluntary workout portion of the offseason is now in the books with mandatory minicamp set to begin next week.
Back in the fold and fighting for a starting position is former Bills star Tre’Davious White.
The cornerback returns to the Bills after a year away from the team with a possible new role this time around. The Bills drafted cornerback Maxwell Hairston in the first round of the draft earlier this year, so while White looks for playing time, he will also be mentoring the rookie.
“Me being a guy that has been in that position – when I got here we had Kyle Williams, Lorenzo Alexander and guys like that, so I don’t want to mess up,” White said. “I understand the position that he’s in (referring to Hairston]. The only thing that I can do is give him little nuggets in his ear, here and there, because he already has everyone else in his ear. So I just want to slow play and just let him know that anything he needs, any questions, I’m here to be a resource for sure.”Â
White has had a tough few years. In 2021 he suffered a season-ending ACL injury, then an Achilles injury cut his season short in 2023.
“It’s great to be around Tre’Davious again, his energy is infectious,” Bills defensive coordinator Bobby Babich said. “His work ethic is second to none.”
The Bills will be back on the practice field next Tuesday.
