When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed edge rusher Haason Reddick to a free agent deal this offseason, reviews on the move were pretty split.

Some analysts believed that Reddick could provide the Buccaneers with the kind of quality edge rusher the team had been lacking over the last few seasons. Others believed the fact that Tampa Bay would be his third team in as many seasons showed he couldn’t be trusted to be impactful anymore.

With mandatory minicamp set to kick off this week, one analyst believes the potential is there for Reddick to have a big year for Tampa.

On Mina Kimes’ podcast, the longtime ESPN analyst made it clear that everything was in front of the Pro Bowl edge rusher.

“If Haason Reddick can go back to being Haason Reddick, that’s a big deal for this team,” Kimes said. “Because he obviously had a chaotic season last year, offseason, and didn’t play well when he came back.”

Tampa Bay was in desperate need of looking for edge rushers all offseason. The struck a deal with Reddick quickly to add a new wrinkle to their defensive front under head coach Todd Bowles.

If Reddick can play like he did in Philadelphia, the organization’s front seven will be far better than people realize. Considering Reddick hasn’t played at an elite level in the last couple of years, though, there’s room to wonder if he can ever reach that ceiling again.
