Rachaad White Says Tampa Bay Buccaneers Are ‘Starving’ in 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are engaged in the initial stages of their mandatory minicamp, and easing into the offense of new coordinator Josh Grizzard while also working on a retooled Todd Bowles defense that boasts new stars on the roster with his unit.

On Tuesday, the team worked out and then players had a chance to speak with the media.

A newly slimmed-down Rachaad White answered questions about his weight loss and the offense under Grizzard.

When asked about the team’s current state of hunger for meaningful wins and a Super Bowl, White’s answer was telling.

“I would say we’re starving. … I mean, look at us right now,” White told JP Peterson of Fan Stream Sports – Tampa Bay. “We’re hungry coming out of practice. We’re very hungry. We’re starving. We want it. We want it for each other. We want it for our vets, our older guys, looking where they are in their careers. The young guys want it for them and as a collective, we want it.

White is certainly hungry as he enters the final year of his contract without an extension in place. After splitting carries with then-rookie Bucky Irving early last season, Irving eventually became the primary back.

But they both still complemented each other well.

Irving posted 1,122 yards on 207 carries and eight touchdowns in his rookie campaign last season, while White was utilized mostly in the passing game. The 26-year-old registered 613 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, while catching 51 passes for 393 yards and six touchdowns through the air.

Irving didn’t catch his first TD of the year until the postseason game against the Washington Commanders.

There is a place in Tampa Bay for White and Irving next season, and he’s lost 10 pounds this offseason to make himself quicker out of the backfield. And so far, he looks good.

And he looks hungry.
