Now the fun begins!

With the 2025 NFL draft now in the books, the Houston Texans secured nine new players to help C.J. Stroud build off his success in Year 3. Five undrafted free agents and tryout players will also have a chance to make the final 53-man roster, as Houston plans on taking the next step forward toward contention in the AFC.

So, with the draft now behind us, what’s next on the offseason calendar for the Texans ahead of crucial Year 3 under DeMeco Ryans?

First up is the annual rookie minicamp, which is expected to run from May 8-10. In addition to the draft class and UDFA signings, Houston will also invite tryout players to the rookie camp.

After that, the Texans will hold voluntary organized team activities from May 28-30 and June 2-3, plus June 5. Following OTAs, the team will have a mandatory minicamp from June 10-11.

After mandatory minicamp, players will get a summer break before reporting back to the Houston Methodist Training Center for the start of training camp in early August. Depending if the Texans play in the Hall of Fame Game for a second consecutive year, the schedule is usually announced its training camp schedule in early June.

Also of note on the NFL’s offseason calendar is the 2025 schedule release, set for May 14. We already know the Texans’ schedule’ for 2025 — the dates and times (and television networks) will be revealed in mid-May.

Following training camp later this summer, Denver will play three preseason games in August before the regular season begins in September.
