The Indianapolis Colts today announced the creation of the Colts Flag Scholarship Fund to help reduce financial barriers to participation for young athletes who compete in the Colts Flag Football Leagues, presented by Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.

The Colts are the first NFL team to offer a scholarship fund to deserving flag football athletes across its network. Families may apply for the scholarship or learn more at Colts.com/FlagLeagues.

“Football is a game that should be shared and played by all who want to participate,” said Colts Owner & Chief Brand Officer Kalen Jackson. “This scholarship fund will help create more opportunities and access to the great sport of flag football for young people across Indiana.”

The scholarships are available to athletes from families earning below the median household income for the state of Indiana or are enrolled in Medicaid, WIC or SNAP programs. Registration fees typically range from $80 to $150, and the scholarship would cover most of the cost for more than 100 youth athletes.

Operated in conjunction with partner RCX Sports, the Colts Flag Football League includes leagues in Indiana (Elkhart, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, New Haven, Noblesville) and Louisville, Ky.

Registration for the fall season of the Colts Flag Football Leagues is now open at Colts.com/FlagLeagues. Those interested in playing may visit the website to find a league near them.

The leagues are open to boys and girls aged four to 14, and no experience is necessary. Participants have the opportunity to represent the Colts and the chance to compete in NFL FLAG Regionals & Championships.
