Social media is often a cruel and toxic cesspool of people hiding behind fake names and fake pictures to insult others. They say things they’d never dare say to someone’s face. And there are engagement accounts that post outlandish stuff so people will respond. That’s what happened Wednesday with Washington Commanders wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

And Samuel’s good friend and former teammate, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, was having none of it.

One particular X account, which we refuse to promote, reposted a video that one of the Commanders’ reporters posted from Wednesday’s minicamp. The post said Samuel’s particular route on the video had gone viral and asked X users, “What do you notice?” The account also added three useless emojis.

The post was either trying to initiate a conversation about Samuel’s weight or his jogging through the route.

Kittle was not happy.

Good for George Kittle. It’s good to see players responding to these ridiculous posts. Of course, you’ll have some take the bait, like, you know, Eagles’ fans, which is what the initial post was designed to do.

Kittle and Samuel are close, having spent six seasons as teammates with the 49ers before Washington traded for Samuel this offseason. Samuel has worked hard, attending all offseason work, and looks to be in outstanding shape. All reports on Samuel have been overwhelmingly positive since he arrived in March, and the Commanders expect him to have a big season in 2025.
