And not to mention veteran Tony Jefferson, who stepped up when needed last season and provides another key contribution to the room.
Fuller said getting the chance to work with someone with the experience of Jefferson in the first NFL job is part of what makes this role special.
“That’s part of the drive of wanting to work in the best league in the world is because you have people that, there are successful players, and there are successful people,” Fuller said about Jefferson. “You talk about Tony, he fits in that mold.
“He wants to be the best player he can be, but to see him aspire to be great, I have a true belief that everything is connected,” Fuller added. “How you do one thing is how you do all things. I think Tony epitomizes that the way it’s going.”
Things will pick up as the offseason progresses, but Fuller is ready to help push the Chargers to even more heights in 2025, even after the unit was the No. 1 scoring defense a season ago.
“This synergy to try and get better every day and improvement, just the growth that’s there for me individually selfishly is exciting,” Fuller said. “Then just try to add in and be a part of a really good group of people because the defensive staff, it’s a really tight, good group and you saw that play out on the field. That was then, and this is now.
“You got to take it where it is and move it further,” Fuller added. “Helping be a piece of that, I’m excited for.”
