Laremy Tunsil joined the Washington Commanders this week, giving fans their first glimpse of the five-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle in the burgundy and gold. While Tunsil skipped the voluntary portion of the offseason, he joined the team for minicamp and looked ready for Week 1.
It was also the first time reporters spoke to Tunsil as a member of the Commanders. Tunsil’s addition was Washington’s biggest offseason move and the most significant domino in GM Adam Peters’ plan to upgrade the offensive line.

Tunsil will play left tackle, rookie first-round pick Josh Conerly Jr. will play right tackle and Brandon Coleman will shift inside to play left guard. Tyler Biadasz returns as the starting center, while Sam Cosmi remains entrenched at right guard, once he returns from knee surgery.
So, what does Tunsil think of his bookend tackle?
“You know who I’m really impressed with, though?” Tunsil asked reporters. “JC (Conerly). JC is gonna be a dawg, and I’m not just saying that to blow smoke up his a–. JC is gonna be a dawg, man. I can’t wait to see it.”
Why is Tunsil so high on Conerly?

“Just the way he moves,” Tunsil responded. “The way he bends, athletic, smart, very intelligent. I think he’s got all the tools to be a damn good player in this league.”
Tunsil would know. A former first-round pick, Tunsil has played nine NFL seasons, starting all 125 games he played.
