The Pittsburgh Steelers signed cornerback Darius Slay to a one-year contract in the offseason to replace Donte Jackson and while we are happy with Slay, the team should never be content at any position if an opportunity presents itself to improve it.

This is the position the Steelers find themselves in as the Miami Dolphins are actively shopping star cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey wants out of Miami and the Dolphins are motivated to deal him. This got us thinking about what it might cost the Steelers to make this trade.

According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, Ramsey is set to make $25.1 million this season as part of his three-year extension worth $72.1 million he signed with the Dolphins on September 7, 2024. After this season, none of Ramsey’s contract is guaranteed and there are three voidable years for salary cap purposes.

How much would the Steelers be willing to pay? Given their current situation with draft picks, we could see the Steelers sending a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft for Ramsey that could turn into a third-round pick based on production so long as the Dolphins are willing to pick up some of Ramsey’s $25 million in considerations for the upcoming season.
