BYU added the 10th commitment to its 2026 recruiting class as Forth Worth, Texas defensive back Antonio Johnson announced his commitment to BYU.
Johnson committed to BYU Saturday while on his official visit. 247 Sports lists him as a 3-star athlete with an 86 overall rating and the 93 overall cornerback in the 2026 class.
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds, Johnson plays both sides of the ball and possesses good ball skills. His first two plays on his below highlight tape show him tracking and high pointing the ball as a wide receiver. Johnson has been recruited by both BYU DC Jay Hill and Cornerbacks coach Jernaro Gilford, suggesting BYU is recruiting him to play corner.
BYU is Johnson’s lone P4 offer — he chose BYU over offers from Texas State, UTEP, Miami Ohio, and others. BYU is projecting that Johnson’s size and athleticism will translate to him being a quality defensive back down the road.
