“Know you’re doing great things in Charlotte @BamScott22,” Beamer posted on X. “The @Panthers are fortunate to have you. We miss you in Columbia! You made us better during your time here.”

The message was written in response to an interview Chaz R. Frazier posted with Martin-Scott, where he was asked about how playing for Beamer had prepared him for the Carolina Panthers.

“With the special teams thing, being under Coach Shane Beamer, having two great special teams coaches [DeCamillis and Lembo]… Just working hard…” Martin-Scott said. “That program with our strength program and everything, keeping us ready.”

Martin-Scott was with the Gamecocks for four seasons before signing with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent. The off-season marks an important time when he’ll be vying for a spot on the active roster.

Martin-Scott also said in the interview that he plans to “kick the door down” in camp by “really just giving my best efforts, running to the ball, punching at the ball. Then on special teams just knowing my techniques and everything I got to do.”

Martin-Scott appeared in 40 games with the Gamecocks and had an aggressive, defensive style, SI reported. That same strength would be a big advantage for the Panthers.

The Gamecocks had a strong showing in the 2025 NFL Draft.
