On Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys announced that they have waived cornerback Luq Barcoo and defensive tackle Justin Rogers. The moves come on the heels of Dallas signing former Green Bay Packers cornerback Robert Rochell to a one-year deal.
Barcoo went undrafted in 2020 following a standout career at San Diego State and Grossmont College. He played three games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020 but has bounced around the league ever since. He has 10 career tackles and one pass defended.
Rogers was a seventh round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Cowboys after playing at Kentucky and Auburn. He was cut after training camp as a rookie, spent most of 2024 with the Cincinnati Bengals and returned to the Cowboys near the end of the season. But he has not played an NFL game.
Cowboys fans weren’t thrilled to see the team signing Rochell in the first place. Most of them lamented that team didn’t sign Jaire Alexander, who wound up signing with the Baltimore Ravens.

“Jerry you signed the wrong one!” one user remarked.
“Oh neat, we sign Rochell but not Alexander,” wrote another.
“Jerry signed the wrong Packers player sigh,” a third wrote.
“Atleast we got … … Robert Rochell!?!?!? who??? TYPICAL COWBOYS.. BRING IN P-SQUAD GUY THAT WILL NOT CHALLENGE THE GUYS THEY WANT TO START… PAAAAATHETIC!!!!”
“See, they know they need depth at CB. And instead of going after a legit guy (not saying Alexander), they go bargain basement shopping. They have over $30M in cap space!!!”
Suffice it to say, fans are not thrilled about the state of the Cowboys’ cornerbacks room.
