Texas A&M saw three 2024 starting defensive linemen selected in the first two rounds of the 2025 NFL draft, led by edge Shemar Stewart, who was picked by Cincinnati with the 17th overall selection. 24 hours later, fellow edge Nic Scourton went 51st overall to the Carolina Panthers, while defensive tackle Shemar Turner is headed to the Chicago Bears, who selected his 62nd overall in the second round.
However, 10 players were undrafted, including productive veteran wide receiver Jabre Barber, who, in one season with the Aggies recorded 38 receptions, 351 yards and two touchdowns through the air. Due to an offseason injury, Barber’s slow returned ramped up toward the end of the season, but quickly became the most reliable receiver on the roster outside of Noah Thomas, and a go-to target for quarterback Marcel Reed.

During his final season at Troy, Barber nearly eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards, ending the season with 999, and while his thinner 5’10” frame didn’t garner massive attention from NFL scouts, but after going undrafted last weekend, the Alabama native will reportedly attend the Cleveland Browns mini-camp with a chance to earn a training camp roster spot to compete for a job.
The Browns drafted very well, but at wide receiver, outside of Jerry Jeudy and David Bell, Barber has a legitamate chance to make a dent if he can impress the coaching staff this summer. After drafting two quarterbacks, led by Shedeur Sanders (Colorado) and Dillon Gabriel (Oregon), Cleveland’s offense is in a rebuild, giving any offensive playmaker, including Jabre Barber.
