FARGO — Tommy Kramer and Jim McMahon will be at The Old Broadway restaurant in downtown Fargo on Saturday to tackle some burgers for the “Burger Royale” challenge.
The former Minnesota Vikings gunslingers will be tasting burgers from the “Burger Royale” menu. These aren’t your typical hamburgers, as there are 19 different burgers from 19 different establishments throughout the Fargo area.
Each burger is tailored to the personality of the restaurant, such as The Sons of Norway has Norwegian waffles for the buns, or the Wurst Bier Hall has a burger that has poutine as the entire sandwich.
Another burger the QBs will be trying is The Old Broadway’s entry, “The Bloody Mary Burger.”
Kramer and McMahon will visit The Old Broadway from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21. Kramer played for the Vikings from 1977-1989 and was a Pro Bowl selection in 1986. McMahon is best known for quarterbacking the 1985 Bears to a Super Bowl XX victory. He spent one of his 14 seasons in Minnesota, where he posted an 8-4 record and led the Vikings to the playoffs in 1993.
Tommy Kramer, former Minnesota Vikings quarterback, plays in the 2011 Roger Maris Celebrity Golf Tournament in Fargo.

The third-year event runs through the end of the month as a friendly competition between the 19 eateries to decide who made the best bizarre burger.
It’s the public’s job to determine which was best, so to vote for a favorite, scan the QR code at the restaurant or with the QR code inside a to-go order. Voting can also take place at the restaurant by asking for a voting card from the server.
The voting criteria are as follows: Rate each burger on all five categories, patty, bread, toppings, creativity, and wait staff service. Only one vote is allowed per person at each establishment.
