The Buffalo Bills have thrived under head coach since he was hired in 2017.

Even so, Pro Football Focus does not hold him in high regard in 2025.

PFF ranked the top-10 returning coaches in the NFL heading into next season. McDermott’s name does not appear on the list.

McDermott has had in a winning record in all but one year guiding the Bills. Overall, he has an 86-45 record. Despite that and Buffalo’s bench boss winning five-straight AFC East titles, he’s still not earning much respect from PFF.

The one knock against McDermott is likely that he has not brought home a Super Bowl title yet. But that’s no easy task and McDermott should probably still crack a top-10, at least.
