It’s safe to say North Carolina native Omarion Hampton is going to enjoy his time in Los Angeles.
The Chargers first-round pick joined The Jim Rome Show on Tuesday, a few days removed from being the No. 22 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
His biggest takeaway from now being on the West Coast? There’s nothing like it.
“It’s L.A., there’s not a better place in the world,” Hampton said.
He later added: “It’s amazing weather. You can’t get much better. The beach is right next door.”
Hampton, a two-time Doak Walker Award finalist and All-American, continues to wind down from emotions of getting drafted by the Bolts.
But he’s also had a chance to get to learn more about Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh.
The running back has enjoyed getting to know Harbaugh over the last couple of days — and he’s well-aware of what kind of team he is joining.
“It’s been great just getting to know him and everything,” Hampton said. “We know he’s going to run the ball, he’s decided to run the ball and it’s something he wants to do. He did it all his career, so I’m just excited to get started.
“With him being my head coach, I couldn’t be more happy,” Hampton added.
